  • Project Overview/

    • The Michigan based Sustainable Energy Financing, LLC (SEF) financed and installed the 19.25 kW solar array to supply DenningSons Farms with a renewable source of energy.
    • The project used Patriot Solar Group’s ground mount solar racking because of the tilt angle availability and simple installation inherent in the racking design. Steve and Doug Denning, owners of DenningSons Farms solar array were proponents of utilizing U.S. based installation services and racking components leading to the inclusion of Heath Electric, LLC for connection of all electrical components.
    • The project was able to secure multiple avenues of savings through utility support and government grants secured by SEF leading to a substantial return on the farm’s initial investment. Furthermore, DenningSons Farms was able to leverage low interest financing by utilizing a government loan program for renewable energy projects on dairy farms.
    • The depreciation and tax credits available for renewable energy projects made the DenningSons Farms solar project a plausible option for the farm to save money and secure financing. The farm expects for the solar array to have a life of at least 25 years, however, there is no evidence suggesting that these solar panels will not offer production for much longer than that.
